 Michael T. Rooney, Esq.

       Mr. Rooney has been practicing law since 1978 and has extensive experience in personal injury law and civil litigation of all types.  He has handled cases across the country, both in state and federal courts.

      Mr. Rooney is licensed in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Oklahoma.  After obtaining his bachelors degree in Bacteriology from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ in 1970, Mr. Rooney was commissioned as a Field Artillery Officer in the United States Army. Mr. Rooney completed a distinguished tour of active duty as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Two Air Medals for Valor, and the Bronze Star.  While on active duty,  was assigned to defend military personnel charged with offenses under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, served as an artillery range safety officer, and ran a motor pool.While in the Army Reserves, then Captain Rooney organized and directed an Aviation Operations and Safety Departmart.  As a civilian, Mr. Rooney has also worked in construction and zinc mining.  He began his work towards his Juris Doctor degree at the Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1975 and received his degree in 1978.

       In his twenty-six years of practice, Mr. Rooney has handled a wide range of personal injury and wrongful death cases.  With his unique experience and training in scientific and technical fields, he has successfully settled or tried to verdict cases including:  aviation accidents and airplane defects; automobile, truck, and motorcycle accidents; medical malpractice involving obstetrics, gynecology, neonatology, orthopedics, neurology, and oncology; all types of mechanical and vehicle failures, including railroad, industrial, agricultural, construction, electrical, recreational, and mining accidents; also cases involving fire, explosion, and carbon monoxide poisoning; workers' compensation and compensation subrogation recovery; and injuries and deaths caused by drugs  and by consumer products. 
     Mr. Rooney  is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.  He holds a commercial pilot's license with instrument rating in both fixed and rotary wing aircraft.  For nine years, he served as a Contributing Editor for the Aviation Law Section of the Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association Journal, The Advocate.

 Celia Ann Rooney, Esq.

       Ms. Rooney has been practicing law since 1986. In addition to being a seasoned trial lawyer in personal injury cases, her practice of law has included general practice, civil litigation, consumer protection, and other areas of the law.

       Ms. Rooney is licensed in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Oklahoma.  After receiving her bachelor's degree and teaching certificate from Douglass College at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, she taught English as a second language to international college students on the University of Oklahoma campus in Norman, Oklahoma.  

       Ms. Rooney attended Oklahoma City University School of Law for her first year and then transferred to the University of Oklahoma School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor in 1986. She was selected for the Law Review and was published in the fall 1986 volume of the Oklahoma Law Journal. 

       Since moving to Philadelphia in 1997, Ms. Rooney has worked with Richard M. Braslow, Esq., out of Toms River, New Jersey, and was an associate and trial lawyer with Abraham Bauer & Spalding, P.C., in Center City, Philadelphia.  She then joined her husband in private practice forming the partnership of Rooney & Rooney.  Ms. Rooney has had numerous articles published in the journal of the Oklahoma Trial Lawyers, The Advocate, and in the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers publication.  Most recently, she has written the 2004 and 2005 cumulative supplements to the Product Liability volume of the Pennsylvania Trial Guide series published by the George T. Bisel Publishers in Philadelphia. 

      The Rooneys have three grown children and live in Philadelphia with their golden retriever, Nugget.  They are members of Tenth Presbyterian Church in Center City.
